Offset Printing

Offset PrintingOffset printing is an environment friendly printing technique, where the inked image is transferred from a printing plate to a rubber blanket and then it is again retransferred to the printing surface. Offset printing makes use of wet inks and the printed sheets take certain duration to dry off. Now-a-days, this technique makes use of vegetable oil-based ink as well as the plate used in printing is free from chemicals.

There are many advantages of offset printing like high image quality and despite being eco friendly; this technique gives sharp and clean images. With the availability of 300 lpi and the registration, the offset print is able to deliver prints with great colors, saturated hues, smooth gradients and overall sharpness.

5-10% waste of paper is required to setup an offset printing press, which gets the colors registered and gives the acceptable density to produce color representation accurately. This is due to the high speed of operation of the offset printing process. Hence, when large quantities of prints are desired, offset printing is the solution. Furthermore, a fast offset press that makes use of soy based ink and printed on recycled paper is the best green option for large printing quantity with good quality. As there is lack of direct contact between the plate and the printing surface, the printing plate life is enhanced.

Besides the environment factor of the offset printing technique, this technique is the most cost efficient and is the cheapest method to produce high quality printing. As mentioned earlier that the productivity in this technique is higher and hence there is efficiency in high volume jobs. Hence, this is yet another technique which helps to keep the environment clean and prevents its degradation. Due to its many benefits, this technique is widely used in businesses where quantity with quality both is required.
