Recycled Paper

Recycled PaperPaper recycling yields recycled paper as the end product. Paper recycling is the process in which the paper which is no longer in use, is remade into new paper products. Around 60% of the landfill problems in the US are due to the paper industries. These landfills yield toxic wastes which are emitted as VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds) into the atmosphere. This is not the only reason for using recycled paper. These papers are as efficient as virgin paper, work well with all the printers and will solve the landfills problem.

Recycled paper has very less impact on the forest resources, as well as they cause less air pollution, less water consumption, less water pollution, less energy consumption and less solid waste. Recycled paper does not require deforestation; hence it saves trees and energy, yielding less toxic by-products. Due to its many benefits, recycled paper is used effectively in businesses for printing purposes, business cards, rack cards, bookmarks, calendars and much more.

Recycled paper has cost benefits as it is manufactured from the materials that end up in the waste and pollute the environment further. Another major issue regarding paper industry is the use of chlorine. This issue can be resolved by using 100% post-consumer recycled papers as well as less bleaching agents.

In US, paper industry is the third largest user of energy. Recycling of paper saves 60-70% energy over virgin pulp. Around 100 million tons of paper is used in the US annually. Recycled paper helps in forest as well as water conservation. This makes use of around 55% less water. Moreover, recycled paper reduces air pollution by 74%, water pollution by 35% and eliminates many other toxic elements.

Tree free paper, although not considered as recycled, is environmental friendly paper. It is similar to recycled paper as it is acid free, requires fewer chemicals, less energy and can be recycled. There are many varieties of recycled paper available in the markets that are of high quality and hence giving no excuse of not being used.
